VOLUNTEER MEETINGS

Volunteer meetings are typically held the third Monday of every month, at 6:00 at One Independence Place, 241 South 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 in the 2nd Floor Community Room. Please continue to check our online calendar of events for to learn more about volunteer meetings and opportunities. Ongoing Office Help
The office staff of Komen Philadelphia is in ongoing need of volunteers in our Center City office, which is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm. Duties may include answering phones, assisting with mailings, maintaining database records, filing, and other clerical duties that are vital to our operation.  Basic computer, phone, and office equipment skills required. Strong customer service abilities and a dedication to our mission are imperative. 

Special Events
Komen Philadelphia is in need of volunteer teams at most of our events. Throughout the year, we hold various educational seminars and fundraisers that would not be possible without the dedication of our loyal volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering but cannot commit during regular business hours, please consider working with us at one of these events which could include the Sisters for the CureTM (December), Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® Kick-Off Party (February), Latina's United for the Cure® (March), Survivors Celebration! Luncheon (April), Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® (May), or the Asian-American Women's Health Awareness Day (June).
 
Speakers
Are you a breast cancer survivor wanting to share your story of strength and hope? Are you a member of the medical industry with information to share on the latest research, treatment and screening in the fight against breast cancer? Or maybe you're someone who is concerned about breast cancer and wants to help spread the word about awareness and mammograms. Whatever your interest, experience or history, Komen Philadelphia can use your help at the many health fairs, seminars, and speaking engagements throughout the year which are crucial to spreading awareness and advancing our mission. 

Development

We are looking for volunteers interested in a leadership role within Komen Philadelphia's development program. If you have big ideas for fundraisers and special events, work well with people, enjoy planning and networking, excel at organizing people and schedules, or possess any other number of important assets such as these, please join us. Leaders such as you are a key to helping us raise the necessary funds to fulfill our promise, and we are constantly looking to begin new relationships with people and organizations that want to join us in the breast cancer movement.
