Volunteer Opportunities

Ongoing Office Help

The office staff of the Philadelphia Affiliate is in ongoing need of volunteers in our Center City office. Duties include answering phones, assisting with mailings, maintaining database records, filing, and other general clerical duties. Opportunities are available Monday through Thursday, nine to five, and on Fridays, nine to four. Basic computer, phone, and office equipment skills required. Good customer service and a dedication to our mission are imperative. To discuss this opportunity, please call 215 238-8900.

Komen Philadelphia is seeking college interns to join the office staff. Internships offer a chance to join the leader in the fight against breast cancer and offer flexible scheduling in our office, Monday through Thursday, 9 to 5 and Fridays 9 to 4. Some positions may require attendance at additional meetings and special events, and occasional evening and weekend hours. All internships are unpaid.

All candidates should be enrolled in a college or university, exhibit strong organizational skills, be computer savvy, possess good customer service skills, and show enthusiasm. Special Events

The Affiliate is in need of volunteers at many of our events. Throughoutthe year, we hold various education seminars and fundraisers that would not bepossible without the dedication of our loyal volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering but cannot commit during regular business hours, please consider working with us at one of these events: Pink Tie Ball® (October),Sisters for the Cure™ (December), Race Kick-Off Party (February), Survivor’sLuncheon (April), Race for the Cure® (May), Reaching out to our Asian Community(May). Are you a survivor that wants to share your story of strength and hope? Are you in the medical field and want to share the latest on research, treatment and screening in the fight against breast cancer? The Affiliate is invited to various health agency fairs, company health seminars, and other speaking engagements throughout the year and are crucial to spreading awareness and advancing our mission. Special Events

If you have big ideas for fundraisers and special events, please join us! We are looking for volunteers interested in a leadership role within the Affiliate. We are constantly looking to begin new relationships with people and organizations that want to join us in the fight against breast cancer.
