Volunteers are always needed - and form the core of the grassroots movement that makes Susan G. Komen for the Cure a local, national and international leader in ending breast cancer for all women and men.  Every year, the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate holds multiple fundraisers, educates tens-of-thousands of women, and empowers entire communities to end breast cancer - and VOLUNTEERS MAKE IT ALL POSSIBLE.  So, please help empower millions to survive breast cancer by joining the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia Affiliate volunteer family.

Volunteer meetings are typically held the 3rd Monday of every month at 6:00 PM at the following location:  One Independence Place, 241 S. 6th Street, 2nd Floor Community Room, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Ongoing Office Help
The office staff of the Philadelphia Affiliate is in ongoing need of volunteers in our Center City office from Monday through Thursday, nine to five, and on Fridays, nine to four. Duties include answering phones, assisting with mailings, maintaining database records, filing, and other clerical duties that are vital to our efficient operation. Basic computer, phone, and office equipment skills required. Good customer service and a dedication to our mission are imperative. To discuss this opportunity, please call 215 238-8900.

Special Events
The Affiliate is in need of volunteer teams at most of our events. Throughout the year, we hold various education seminars and fundraisers that would not be possible without the dedication of our loyal volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering but cannot commit during regular business hours, please consider working with us at one of these events which include the Komen Philadelphia Pink Tie Ball® (October), Sisters for the Cure™ (December), Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® Kick-Off Party (February), Latina's United for the Cure® (March), Celebrate Life! Survivor’s Luncheon (April), Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® (May), Asian Community Outreach event (May). Speakers
Are you a breast cancer survivor that wants to share your story of strength and hope? Are you in the medical field and want to share the latest on research, treatment and screening in the fight against breast cancer? The Affiliate is invited to various health agency fairs, company health seminars, and other speaking engagements throughout the year which are crucial to spreading awareness and advancing our mission. Development
We are looking for volunteers interested in a leadership role within the Affiliate's development program. If you have big ideas for fundraisers and special events, work well with people, enjoying planning and networking, excel at organizing people and schedules, and more, please join us.  Leaders such as you are a key to helping us raise the necessary funds to fulfill our promise, and we are constantly looking to begin new relationships with people and organizations that want to join us in the breast cancer movement.  If you are interested in joining our development team, please call 215 238-8900.
