Remembering a mother, celebrating a marriage, empowering the fight

Dear Elaine and the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate Family,

I want you to know how honored and lucky I feel working with the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate through my work at The Star Group. Losing my mom to breast cancer about six years ago was the hardest challenge of my life, and every day I think of her courage when I work with you and your wonderful team. 

Next week (June 25) David and I are getting married. Though he never got to know my mom, he honors her all the time thinking of me. I'm truly blessed. As part of our wedding, we've chosen to donate money in lieu of favors -- and we want to give this to the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate. Looking forward to working with you more in the future.
