1ST ANNUAL TEAM T-SHIRT CONTEST WINNERS

Donna's Dream Team, created in loving memory of Donna DeLia Rhoads, stepped up to the challenge and created a truly beautiful t-shirt design for the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure.

The t-shirt captures the heart, hope and courage of Donna's legacy as a mother, daughter, wife, aunt, niece, cousin, friend-and advocate in the breast cancer movement.

Donna's Dream Team t-shirt design brought in the highest "monetary vote" totals on Race day, making them the 2008 T-shirt champs!

They offer the following tribute to their team's namesake: Donna DeLia Rhoads was an amazing woman. She was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer at age 33 in 1994. Although she was burdened with this terrible disease she never let it show, staying strong throughout her entire battle.

During the 46 years of her beautiful life, Donna was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 6 different times. She endured a bilateral mastectomy, four bouts of chemotherapy, and over a hundred radiation treatments.

On December 19, 2007, Donna entered into heaven at 12:25pm "his time." Words cannot describe the beautiful soul that Donna had. She was truly an angel on earth.

During cancer-free periods of her life she worked as a mentor for women who were going through treatment, she walked the Komen 3-Day in Philadelphia in 2006, and she walked the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure for the past 10 years.

In her honor, her family and friends decided to walk the Race that Donna was unable to walk this year. But she was there with her team; she just had a new set of wings. We love you Donna DeLia Rhoads and we will see you again someday. We promise that we will continue to Race for the Cure.
