Sisters for the Cure: December 6, 2008
The 2008 Sisters for the CureTM outreach event is scheduled to be held Saturday, December 6 at the Marriott Philadelphia Hotel, 1201 Market Street. This free educational and empowerment opportunity is open to all, and specially geared to the needs of today's African-American woman on several levels.

The Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® embarked on our 2008 Race season with the rallying cry of "Race. Embrace. Empower." And it seems that nearly everyone in Philadelphia and the surrounding regions took our call to action to heart-for an estimated 120,000 people swarmed Philadelphia's Eakins Oval on Mother's Day and raised $3.7 million.

1ST ANNUAL TEAM T-SHIRT CONTEST WINNERS
Donna's Dream Team, created in loving memory of Donna DeLia Rhoads, stepped up to the challenge and created a truly beautiful t-shirt design for the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure.
The t-shirt captures the heart, hope and courage of Donna's legacy as a mother, daughter, wife, aunt, niece, cousin, friend-and advocate in the breast cancer movement.
In loving memory of Megan Ashley Perry
In loving memory of Megan Ashley Perry, a devoted Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure advocate, and friend to everyone in the fight against breast cancer. Megan Ashley Perry's life ended tragically on May 15, 2008, age 25, when she was the victim of a fatal car accident. Megan was the beloved daughter of Arthur A. Perry, III and Mary Ellen (Yannelli) Mason.
