2012 Rally of Champions Gallery
Appropriately, our “Rally of Champions” for the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure is hosted by our Champion Sponsor of the Promise, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, on January 17.
Nearly 100 Team Captains, team members and individual participants “fuel up” for a power-house Race fundraising season at our first Rally of 2012.
Dedicated Affiliate volunteer and Spirit of the Promise honoree, Brenda Wade enjoys an amazing, healthy buffet specially created by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America culinary team.
After hours of prep, two members of the CTCA culinary team take time to enjoy the celebration with (l-r): Elaine Grobman; and from CTCA, Nhu Huyn, R.D. & Faith Williams, Loyalty Mgr./Hospital Growth.
Elaine Grobman, CEO of the Komen Phila. Affiliate inspires guests to embrace "Our Race. Our Community. Our Cures!" before introducing John Goodchild, Director of Marketing, CTCA.
CTCA Executive Chef & Director of Culinary Services, Larry Kessel, entertains and enlightens the crowd with his expert cooking skills and helpful tips for preparing meals contributing to healthy living.
Steve Rosen, Managing Partner & President of Public Relations for The Star Group, focuses on increasing his knowledge of healthy cooking during the captivating demonstration.
After the cooking demo & a CTCA dessert extravaganza, CBS 3 Eyewitness News Medical Reporter, Stephanie Stahl, shares her passion for the cause to “rally the troops” as mistress of ceremonies.
Taking to heart Stephanie Stahl’s message of embracing the hope & the power we have in the breast cancer movement are Race Team Captains (l-r): Ariana Flores, Joy Rubeo and Elaine Grobman.
Surrounded by other avid fundraisers, breast cancer survivor and Affiliate volunteer, Mary Spotswood, shows her fight and determination to eradicate breast cancer from our world.
Ouida Brown, Team Captain for FAMU Rattlers for the Cure, is the first of several stellar Race for the Cure fundraisers to share their 1st Commandment of Race participation and leadership.
The 1st Commandment of Race participation “scribes”: Faith Williams, Elaine Grobman, Joy Rubeo, Heather Greaves, Stephanie Stahl, Race Co-Chairs Jeanette Stephens-El & Rick Brown, Sam Stanton, Ouida Brown and Ariana Flores (front).
At just ten years old, Ariana Flores – co-captain of team "From the Hart" & Kids for the Cure: UnitedHealthcare Dash to Make a Difference Ambassador – is one of our youngest, newest and most determined Race fundraisers.
